Early Blue and White - Spode's Geranium Pattern

A floral pattern introduced by Spode in 1818. The centre has a simple sprig of geraniums surrounded by a striking border of geometric shapes. Burtles Tate of Manchester - Opalescent Pressed Glass

The firm was founded in Manchester in 1858 at the Poland Street glass works, in the Oldham Road area, and closed in 1924. It specialised in flint, coloured, blown and pressed glass, and probably their most famous items were the opalescent glass swans made in several sizes - the larger intended for use as creamers and the smaller as salts. The Queen arriving today in the Australian State Coach for the State Opening of Parliament. The coach was a gift from the Australian people in 1988 and was designed and made by renowned coach builder W.J. Frecklington. Drawn by six horses the coach is fitted with electric windows, heating and hydraulic stabilisers.

Royal Winton Cheadle Chintz

19th Century Staffordshire Pottery Spaniels

Henry Greener - Sunderland Glass

In 1857 Henry Greener left the Gateshead firm of Sowerby to start pressed glass production with James Angus at the Wear Flint Glass Works in Sunderland.
