This fine series features some twenty five named views of ancient buildings and monuments around Italy and Sicily (a separate state at this time), most of which would have featured on the Grand Tour. Below is a fine plate with the 'Terrace of the Naval Amphitheatre at Taorminium'. Printed in a dark-medium blue it depicts a group of seated travellers viewing the ancient buildings.
