A rare parian ware jug to mark the death of Prince Albert. Produced by the Old Hall Earthenware Company (1861 to 1886) who succeeded Charles Meigh & Son at the Old Hall works in Hanley. Finely modelled with a portrait of Prince Albert on a blue ground, the handle has cameo portraits of Queen Victoria on both sides with royal regalia, including the garter star, surmounted by the crown.
