Royal Doulton 'Glamis Thistle' Art Deco Trio by Percy Curnock c1938

A beautiful bone china trio based on watercolour studies by Percy Curnock, one of Royal Doulton's most talented artists. The thistle famously grows near Glamis Castle, the childhood home of the late Queen Mother. Pieces acknowledge this and were made during the time she was Queen Elizabeth, consort of George VI (1936-1952). Earlier cups have the angular art deco handle. For more details see Premier Antiques
