Charles Meigh - Improved Stone China
A fine 'Amherst Japan' side plate by Charles Meigh of Hanley. Painted in iron red, cobalt blue and yellow ochre. The pattern was originally made in the 1820s for William Pitt Amherst, Governor-General of India between 1823 and 1828. For more details see Premier Antiques
