Sowerby first introduced their range of Vitro-porcelain glass in the 1870s. The first colour was 'Turquoise' in imitation of the mineral but also capturing the light bluishness of porcelain. A very pretty clear glass threaded dish with applied cranberry glass edge. The glass has been blown into a flower shape and is threaded underneath, using a technique developed by the old Stourbridge firm of Stevens and Williams.
