Wedgwood Majolica Plates

Ranked alongside Minton and George Jones, Wedgwood began producing coloured Victorian majolica wares around 1860. With a new partnership in 1858, the transfer of artist and designer Emile Lessore from Minton in 1860 and the advice of Leon Arnoux, Wedgwood began to perfect their knowledge of majolica production. Shorter and Son - Tulip Vases

In the mid 1930s, Shorter introduced a series of posy vases moulded as irises, orchids, daffodils and tulips. Like other Shorter wares of the period, they allowed painters a range of colours so each piece is individually hand painted. For more details see Premier Antiques
