| Small Yorkshire Relish Willow Pattern Advertising Plate c1840 |
An early example of advertising, I think these small plates were meant to go under the bottles of relish to protect the table or perhaps used for cockles, mussels, etc. which are often served with vinegar type dressings. For more details see my website Premier Antiques
