Burtles Tate of Manchester - Opalescent Pressed Glass

The firm was founded in Manchester in 1858 at the Poland Street glass works, in the Oldham Road area, and closed in 1924. It specialised in flint, coloured, blown and pressed glass, and probably their most famous items were the opalescent glass swans made in several sizes - the larger intended for use as creamers and the smaller as salts.
