A superb Rhodian 145 shape flower jug by Charlotte Rhead. Introduced around 1933, Rhodian has a background of tube lined leaves on a mottled beige glaze. An all over floral design tube lined on a mottled grey ground and enamelled in pink, blue, yellow and green. Crown Ducal pattern number 5411. A classic Charlotte Rhead design showing the influence of middle eastern motifs, which Charlotte and her father greatly admired. A relatively rare design, not seen that often. An early design for Crown Ducal with stylised cerise and purple flowers with smaller blue and yellow flowers tube lined in blue on a mottled ground; a variation of 'Byzantine' also known as 'Danube' in some references.
