| Royal Doulton Daily Mirror 'Pip, Squeak & Wilfred' Dinner Plate c1929 |
Based on the Daily Mirror comic strip, this Royal Doulton series was only produced from 1927 to 1935. Featuring Pip the dog, Squeak the penguin and Wilfred the rabbit created by Uncle Dick (B J Lamb) and drawn by A B Payne. This rare children's dinner plate shows scene five of five, 'Oh Dear, isn't this an ancient pier Pip?', as the trio go fishing. For more details see Premier Antiques
