A vivid range of art deco wall plates often erroneously described as 'hand painted'. They were produced using an old technique of block printing which enabled three or four colours to be printed in succession on to transfer paper and then applied to the plate, creating extremely colourful designs. Doulton were the only pottery to retain a block printing department as most potteries were moving totally to lithographic printing at this time. For a selection see
