Wemyss Ware was developed in the 1890’s by the Fife Pottery in Kirkcaldy. The owner of the pottery, Robert Heron, employed Karel Nekola, a gifted Bohemian artist, to produce a unique style of painting on the pottery which was soon acclaimed for its decorative qualities and originality.
