| 'Neptune' or 'The Apotheosis of Nelson' c1810 |
A rare pattern, 'Neptune' or 'The Apotheosis of Nelson' was produced by an unknown potter to commemorate Nelson's death in 1805. Here is a superb dinner plate printed in medium blue depicting Neptune riding across the waves with Britannia in his chariot. The border contains four heads representing famous seamen including Lord Nelson, Howe, Hood and Collingwood. For more details see Premier Antiques
