The Gateshead glasshouse of George Davidson began producing Cloud Glass in 1923 and it was an important range which continued up to 1939 and the outbreak of war. Created by adding trails of darker molten glass to a lighter colour and then pressing into a mould, different colours were introduced over the years. Sometimes given a satin finish, this was achieved by making a paste with sulphuric acid and applying it to the glass. See my collection at
