Royal Winton Lustre - Orange Bubbles

Royal Winton 'Orange Bubbles' Lustre Alphina Flower Jug c1935

Although Grimwades had occasionally produced lustre pieces from the early 1900s, it wasn't until the 1920s that ranges were introduced under the Byzanta Ware label. In the 1930s, several stylised floral designs were introduced using the Royal Winton trade name. One of the most vibrant is orange 'Bubbles'. Here we have a large Alphina shape jug with flowers in shades of yellow, pink, orange, green and blue which are surrounded by masses of bubbles in pink, purple and blue.
