An extremely talented artist and designer, George Cartlidge (1868-1961) worked at Hancock and Sons from 1916 through to the early 1920's producing Morris Ware from 1917 to 1923. Many of the distinctive shapes he developed at this time were also used for subsequent ranges designed by F X Abraham and Molly Hancock.
