Maling Lustre - Springtime

Introduced in 1950 and in production until the factory closed in 1963, 'Springtime' was produced in the three lustre colourways of green, pink and blue. Sprays of tulips, daffodils and anemones perfectly capture the freshness of spring flowers. Here is a lovely biscuit barrel in pink. For more details see Premier Antiques

Sowerby Glass - Diving Dolphins

Introduced by the old Gateshead firm of Sowerby in the 1880s, these superb bowls on three dolphin feet were produced in several colours, both opaque and translucent. Robert Allen was head of a studio group of artists and craftsmen producing the finest of decorative wares. His designs used raised gold in Florentine and other Renaissance styles to complement the work of floral, landscape and other artists in his department. Wares designed and decorated by Robert Allen and artists in his studio were given RA-numbers and were not produced in great quantities - often pieces are quite unique.
