Copeland Spode's Italian pattern

Copeland Spode's 'Italian' tankard c1910

Based on a later sketch taken from a Claude Lorraine landscape of 1638 (now in Parham House, Sussex), the famous Spode Italian pattern was introduced in 1816. Here we have a good one pint tankard produced almost a hundred years later (1910) and an antique in its own right. For more details see Premier Antiques
