Spode's Felspar Porcelain

Spode Felspar Porcelain jug c1825

Developed by Spode in the early 1820s, the addition of feldspar to the body produced a fine quality and hard wearing bone china which they called 'Felspar Porcelain'. The translucent white body was perfect for print and enamelled designs as in the 'famille rose' hydra jug below. For more details see Premier Antiques
