In 1878 Henry and James Doulton acquired the major interest in the Pinder, Bourne factory in Nile Street, Burslem and in 1882 the name of the firm was changed to Doulton & Company, Burslem. Decorating studios were established and many fine pieces were produced up to 1901 when the royal warrant was granted and they became Royal Doulton. For more early Royal Doulton see Premier Antiques
