| Royal Doulton Miniature Christmas Santa Claus Jug c1910 |
Introduced in 1904 and withdrawn by 1914, this early series was marketed by Doulton as an alternative to the Christmas card. Six images of Father Christmas with various seasonal quotations were used to decorate miniature vases and jugs in bone china. This rare jug shows Santa with his arms full of toys and balloons with a seasonal quote on the reverse 'Tobacco and a good coal fire, Are things this season doth require'.
