A large and impressive Minton parian ware figure of 'Dorothea' dressed as a youth and capturing the moment when she stops to bathe her feet in a stream, casting aside her disguise. The original life-sized marble figure was commissioned from the designer John Bell in 1838 and shown at the Royal Academy in 1839. For more details see Premier Antiques
