A rare dinner plate by Enoch Wood and Sons from their extensive (58 known views) Grapevine Border Series. Printed in dark blue with a view of Esholt House in Yorkshire, it's a charming parkland scene with a regency couple and their dog in the foreground. Wood and Sons exported many wares to America, where taste at the time preferred a deeper blue, and indeed the factory mark often incorporates the American eagle. For more details see Premier Antiques
