Stevens and Williams Threaded Glass

Stevens and Williams Threaded Glass Dish on Plated Stand c1880

A very pretty clear glass threaded dish with applied cranberry glass edge. The glass has been blown into a flower shape and is threaded underneath, using a technique developed by the old Stourbridge firm of Stevens and Williams. It sits in an ornate fully marked James Dixon and Sons (Sheffield) silver plated stand. For more details see Premier Antiques
