Royal Winton hand painted wares from the 1930s |
Embossed wares such as Beehive, Chanticleer, Pixie and Lakeland were introduced in the 1930s and reflected the taste for hand painted items. Although originally intended for use to brighten up the breakfast and tea table, the overglaze colours wouldn't stand a lot of wear and tear, so now pieces that have survived in good condition are at a premium.
