Grimwades Royal Winton Beehive

Royal Winton Beehive Biscuit Barrel c1936

Described as embossed fancy tableware, Grimwades introduced the Beehive range in the mid 30s and various styles of colouring were on offer. Using an old rope beehive or skep as the main shape with brightly painted bee finials, as in this fantastic biscuit barrel, the design was very popular though items are difficult to find now in good condition as many pieces have suffered over the years.
