Shelley Melody

Shelley 'Melody' cruet c1935

Introduced in the 1930s, Melody is a delicate pattern of daisies, cornflowers, thrift and other wild flowers scattered on a green and white 'vermicelli' ground. Before the war, most items were made of pottery with either green, yellow or blue trim and banding. After the war, production switched to bone china (mainly tea and coffee wares) and gilding was added to the selection of finishes available. For more Shelley visit my website Premier Antiques
