Shelley Oleander Shape - Rose Sprays Pattern 13535

Shelley 'Rose Sprays' Pattern 13535 Oleander Cup and Saucer c1940

A pretty Shelley 'Rose Sprays' Oleander shape duo. The petal shaped cup and saucer delicately washed in pale green 'eau de nil'. Trim and handle finished in best gold. The shape was first introduced by Shelley around 1912. Initially produced in plain white as an alternative to Dainty White, it was revived in the 1940's when floral lithographs were applied inside the cup and a coloured wash added outside and on the saucer.
