Wedgwood Majolica

Wedgwood Majolica Sardine Box c1878

Wedgwood had produced green and brown glazed wares since their beginnings in the 18th century. By the 1860s they had started to produce ranges using multi-coloured majolica glazes and by the 1870s had become prime producers of wares in the Aesthetic Movement style. Here are some fine examples produced in this innovative period.
