Introduced in the mid 1930s, Chanticleer or Rooster was a cheery addition to the breakfast table. Realistically moulded in warm colours Royal Winton referred to the various toast racks, cruets, jugs and teapots etc., as 'distinctive novelties'. Several colourways were produced, the hand painting adding more variation. Very collectable, pieces now are becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially in good condition. See my collection at
