Introduced as a trade name in 1908, the Cetem Ware sunburst became the pottery's major mark until the mid 1920s. Much was made of the 'china-like' quality of the early wares and they were soon being sold in department stores worldwide, finding particular favour with Harrod's who often featured Cetem Ware in their catalogues. Below is a vase made towards the end of the Cetem period, illustrating beautifully the transition from traditional designs to the bold hand painting of art deco. For more details see Premier Antiques
