Two early Mason's Patent Ironstone China dinner plates in a vibrant Japan pattern. Printed Mason's marks are notoriously difficult to date accurately, so these are good examples as they also have a Dublin retailer's mark. Thomas Higginbotham of 106 Pill Street (now Chancery Street) is described in trade directories of the time as a 'China and Delph' merchant. Records show he was trading from c1800-1830, which helps to place this particular Mason's mark. For more details see
