In the 1860s Joseph Holdcroft left Minton to set up his own pottery in Longton, Staffordshire. Majolica was produced at the Daisy Bank pottery from 1870 to 1885. Items can be found impressed either with the 'JH' monogram or 'J HOLDCROFT' but many can only be attributed by their patterns and rich colors that are documented to come from the Holdcroft pottery.
