Carnival Glass - Northwood 'Fruits and Flowers'

'Fruits and Flowers' is similar to 'Three Fruits' and both have the same three fruits but 'Fruits and Flowers' doesn't have any pattern in the centre (except the rare variant). Early Blue and White - Family and Mule Pattern

'Family and Mule' plate c1820

A lovely design by an unknown maker used on dinner wares. A woman leads a mule on which a boy is seated, accompanied by three other children and a dog. There is a small bridge over a stream which they have just crossed and impressive ruins in the background. Field Marshall Frederick Sleigh Roberts, Lord Roberts (1832-1914) was one of the most successful commanders of the 19th century. He served in the Indian rebellion, the Expedition to Abyssinia and the Second Anglo-Afghan War before leading British Forces to success in the Second Boer War. Copeland Spode Indian Sporting Series 'Common Wolf Trap' Dish c1835

A rare dish printed in medium blue and showing a wolf trap with a lamb suspended over it in a basket. A pot of water drips on to the lamb causing it to bleat and attract wolves. Four wolves have gathered and one is shown falling into the pit below which is disguised with branches and leaves. Framed by a beautifully exotic border of tigers, bears, boar and cormorants. Based on the Daily Mirror comic strip, this Royal Doulton series was only produced from 1927 to 1935. Featuring Pip the dog, Squeak the penguin and Wilfred the rabbit created by Uncle Dick (B J Lamb) and drawn by A B Payne.
